Do you espeaka Spanish?

Can't believe it's already been two months since I've been here! It honestly feels like I just arrived and curious to find out where I would be living and who my room mates would be. Luckily for me, I was blessed with not only the craziest but the greatest roomies a girl could ask for! Well here is my second post to my Disney Program blog...enjoy?

My room mate Mariel aka Sleeping Beauty! :D
I have to say, even though my first month here was awesome...my second month here was even more fun. I finally ended up going to Universal Studios and Miami! I also finally went to a Disney water park since they were free for us Cast Members August 12th. Now before I get into the fun stuff..I shall tell you about work.

Work is very chill, can be boring if super slow but depending on who you work with it can be lots of fun too!     In general, I like the people I work with. I've yet to have issues with anyone I work with, there are some crabby full timers who don't like CPs but what can you do right? I also tend to be teased by my coordinators and managers because I'm Canadian...eh?

I happened to meet a very sweet guy at work though, a boy by the name of Jose. I met him near the end of August, he's a Part-timer and he's sorta new which is why I hadn't seen him beforehand. We barely work, but he's a huge gamer nerd like myself and we have a lot of the same tastes in things so could something happen between us? Possibly...who knows.

Still hard to believe that I'm already switching roles next month. Feels like I just started in Merchandise! As of October I will be starting Food and Beverage at All-Stars Music...not going to be a fun time.

I've been to the water parks before with my family so it was weird being there without them...but I went with my buddy Vipul so we had fun! I refused to go back on the summit plummet though...been on it once and that's more than enough anyway. However I do love water slides and the like. After we were done there, we decided to order a sand pail dessert. Now I wanted to try one before, all I knew was that they were big sundaes in green pails. So Vipul and I wanted to be adventurous and decided to buy a sand pail each...sadly we did not realize how big each individual pail was...oops. Luckily it was delicious...just sucked that we spent 10 bucks and only ate half.

Now Miami is absolutely gorgeous! The water is really nice and you can walk right in and it's warm! Unfortunately it is very easy to get burnt there...even if you wear a lot of sun block. At least I got a tan though, just wasn't a fan of the part when my nose and parts of my face were peeling. Eh, was totally worth the experience! Went with almost all of my room mates along with a few other friends, took many good pictures as well! Tourist mode was definitely in full force that day. We even explored a bit of the city before taking the party bus back to Orlando.

Miami, bitch!
We even went to visit the Jersey Shore house that took place during the second season or whatever(mainly for my friend Robbie, I don't like Jersey Shore at all). Now the way home was fun...I was planning on sleeping but I ended up having a couple drinks with my roomies sitting in the front of the bus...ended up drinking too much tequilla and got trashed...this was NOT planned. Apparently I was very loud, and was singing 'Bad Boys' which earned me the nickname 'Bad Boys' for a couple weeks...thanks guys.

I had gone to other parties like the parties at the Jack ass house and the euphoria paint party...I definitely plan on going to Dayglow though! Patterson even had it's own pool party...thank god I live right by the Patterson pool. It was a lot of fun!

Totally Tubular 80's Pool Party!
Honestly, it was just a fun month of craziness! I even ended up going to Universal Studios as well! Universal Studios I gotta say is better than Disney when it comes to rides. SO much better! The roller coasters are insane, and I absolutely LOVE the Hulk! Disney has a better atmosphere though I'll give you that. I definitely plan on going for the Halloween horror nights though since I have an annual pass! I'm going to Universal my second time this week, and I also plan on going to Disney's Not-so-scary Halloween party at Magic Kingdom!

Me, Fiona and Laura showing off our Universal mugs...
What else did I do? Well, I ended up finally trying the Kitchen Sink dessert at Beaches and Cream. It's an icecream store in Disney's Yacht and Beach club, and what is the kitchen sink you ask? Well, it's a huge sundae in a bowl that looks like you guessed it-a kitchen sink. However, you need at least 4 or 5 people to finish it...I was with my friend Ruth, her 2 room mates and their friend Mike(awesome people by the way). It was delicious and we almost finished it! But it was totally worth it, we made a great memory from it and I definitely plan on hanging out with them more since they were quite awesome to hang out with.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Kitchen Sink!
Well, I guess that's all for now. I will posting my next entry next month, so see you all then! :)

My first month in Florida

Hello everyone! As you all know, I'm living here in Orlando, Florida because of the Disney International Program. It's so hard to believe that I've already been here for about a month! Honestly, I love it here and don't want to go back to my home in Windsor. You're probably wondering what I've been up to, if I miss home, if I've met any cute guys etc. Well, I've decided I'm going to do a post every month summarizing everything that's happened each month. I'm here for six months and honestly, a lot can happen during that time.

Why am I at Disney? Well I am currently taking Travel and Tourism at St.Clair College and the Disney International Program is offered to us as a work placement option. Since I wanted to get the hell out of Windsor and I wasn't accepted into Fairmont in Whistler, Disney was my back up plan and I was accepted. So here I am, and boy has it been quite the adventure so far.

Well, I didn't end up flying here to Orlando, instead I was driven here with my friend and classmate from home Charlotte and her family. I really appreciated them giving me a ride here because it saved me so much money and I'm used to always driving to Florida. My family and I are always packed together in one van so it was nice being able to have room to sleep in Charlotte's van.

I won't lie, I was very nervous about living on my own. Sure I'm 21 years old but I have never lived on my own until now. I was afraid that I would end up with bitchy room mates that would be super messy, and it would be strange not seeing my family everyday. However, the moment Charlotte and I arrived at Vista Way to check in and get our room keys...we were suddenly overly hyper. Charlotte ended up being one of my room mates! We found out we were living in Patterson Court and we were happy to see our classmate from St.Clair Henry during the check in. We were driven in a van with several other girls to our apartment complex and the whole time we were so hyper. Another thing we worried about was a crappy apartment with nothing in it, and we ended up with the nicest apartments. Patterson Court may be considered the boring complex, but man are their apartments ever nice.

The building I live in!

One of the girls in our van was a girl from Mexico named Mary, and we all showed our room keys to see where everyone would be living and it turned out Mary was one of our room mates! We were dropped off at our building and started unpacking. During this time, we went outside to meet with Charlotte's family who offered to take the three of us grocery shopping at Super Target(Yeah, Super). However while heading to the van, we ended up running into our friend from St.Clair, Jackie! We were so happy to see her as well. Another awesome thing? She ended up being another one of our room mates! And she ended up joining us grocery shopping. Before we left, another girl who would be our room mate showed up. Her name is Marielle, and she was from Mexico like Mary. We didn't get a chance to talk to her for long because she was spending the  day with her sister.

Now about our trip to Target, I have to say it felt so weird to go grocery shopping for myself, something I had never done on my own. But the good thing about living in the U.S. is that it's so damn cheap! The four of us bought so much stuff and we were certain we'd be set for the first month.

Grocery shopping...yeah
After we got home and put all of that crap away, we eventually met our last room mate who had arrived before any of us, but she wasn't home for the day until later. Her name is Liz, and like Mary and Marielle she was from Mexico. I gotta say, I like my room mates. I kept hearing bad things about other people's room mates which made me very nervous but so far I have no complaints. They're like my Canadian/Mexican family and they're lots of fun to hang out with. I like to call us CMU aka Canadian/Mexican Union.

During our free time we've explored our housing area, took tons of pictures, met people in our area, spent lots of time in our pool, and because we're 21 we get to drink in our apartment as well. Another good thing about being 21 down here is that we can go to the kick ass clubs down here(believe me, clubbing down here is awesome)and have some awesome drinks. This is why I was so happy that I turned 21 a week before I left.

Representing the 519

Now I'll be honest, the Disney students in general love to party. They also love to get laid because honestly, that happens a lot down here. There are guys here who plan to fuck girls of every nationality, seriously. But I'll be honest, even I've partied a bit down here, I mean why not? I'm 21, I live on my own, and I want to make the best of my time down here. Of course, I didn't come down here just to party and get laid(Though honestly, there are some fine ass guys down here).

Now about the guys, okay, there are quite a number of hotties down here. Hotties from all around the world, and let's not forget the hotties who live down here in Orlando. Yes I've met a few guys down here, and no I have not slept with any of them. Anyway enough of that...one awesome thing about this program is the fact that you meet so many people from all around the globe and you will undoubtedly make life long friendships.

So overall, this past month has been quite fun. It's been mainly meeting people, being social, drinking, going to Disney parks for free, and buying cheap junk food from Walmart. Did I mention we got a free T.V.? But then there's work...which luckily I have come to like. I work in Merchandise at the All Stars resort, and it's so laid back and the shifts fly by quickly. I worked at Burger King for almost 3 years and hated it, so this job is honestly better so far and not as stressful. My coworkers seem cool, and my room mate Mary works with me as well. Of course, merchants rotate between the three All Stars themes: Sports, Music and Movies so I won't be working with Mary a lot sadly.

I wear this to the clubs and get all the men

Well, that's about all I have to say for now. Got 5 more months to go! I plan on going to Universal Studios, Busch Gardens, Miami and the Florida Keys within the next two months so hopefully all goes well!
